Three Thai tourists were released from a month-long detention in Laos' province of Savannakhet on Monday.
The male trio, identified as Samart Yaotani, 41, Worapon Kamsena, 36, and Tanwa Supakam, 34, had been arrested while taking pictures of the 644th anti-aircraft artillery battalion and a radar station in Seno district of the southern Lao province last month.
The tourists had been earlier suspected of perpetrating espionage around the Lao army barracks located on the border overlooking Thailand's northeastern province of Mukhaharn across from Mekong River.
They had entered Pakse town in the Lao province of Champasak via Chong Mek border pass in the Thai northeastern province of Ubon Ratchatani with intent to spend a 10-days time traveling in a pickup truck up to northern Laos and return via the northern province of Nan.
Lao authorities in Savannakhet charged each of the trio 1.3 million kip, equivalent to 12,000 baht, in fine and sent them crossing the Friendship Bridge over the international river to Mukdaharn where they were received by family members and friends.
