Thaksin: Let's Forgive And Forget

Thaksin Shinawatra tweeted on Friday asking all Thais to 'forgive and forget' about all troubles and pains which may have prevailed over the past several years.

The former Thai leader, ousted in 2006's coup which has sent him globetrotting since, called on the people to strive to foster national reconciliation whereas he himself has invariably offered his forgivenesses to those who may have hurt or accused him about anything.
The deposed prime minister confirmed he has held no grudges against his political foes and appealed to those who may have taken offenses due to his word or deeds to forgive him as well.

''Those who may have been embarrassed, dissatisfied or frustrated by me from past until present, please accept my apologies and forgive me. To those who may have reprimanded, molested or accused me, I do forgive and I will take no revenge.

''We must step beyond the past and keep going forward together. We must not step back or get stuck any longer,'' tweeted Mr Thaksin.

Mr Thaksin said the people might have different political views which should only be taken into constructive account and no longer invoke social division.

He said he sent his messages on line to mark the 79th anniversary of Thailand's change of rule from monarchial absolutism to democracy.

He has planned to come home by the end of this year to join a wedding party for his daughter, Pinthongtha, and dismissed allegations he might try to return to power.

His yougest sister, Yingluck, is currently contesting against archrival caretaker prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva for head of government, following Jul 3's nationwide polls. Mr Thaksin said she might possibly become the world's 16th woman leader out of the electoral contests.
