Thailand Eyes Myanmar Inland Gas Reserve
 Thailand has been interested to explore and produce natural gas inland inside Myanmar.
During an official visit to Naypyidaw on Wednesday, Myanmar's inland natural gas reserve will be discussed, among other bilateral issues, between Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and Myanmar President Thein Sein.
The production of inland natural gas and land-based pipelining will cost less than those of offshore natural gas for which Myanmar may either co-invest or grant concessions to Thai firms.
Meanwhile, the Thai woman leader and high-level Myanmar government officials will discuss Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, joint campaign against drugs along the shared border, Myanmar refugees in Thailand, construction of a deep-sea port in Myanmar's southern township of Tavoy and hydropower dam projects inside the Southeast Asian state.
Thein Sein recently discontinued the Chinese-run construction of Myitsone dam in Kachin State, saying it was ''against the will of Myanmar's people.'' He said the construction of the 6,000-megawatt hydropower dam would not be resumed until he has finished his presidential term in 2015.
Accompanying Yingluck on the one-day trip to the Myanmar capital is Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul who was scheduled to sign agreements with his Myanmar counterpart Wunna Maung Lwin to provide assistance in the repairs and construction of roads in Myawaddy, Tenasserim and Thai-Myanmar friendship bridge.
