The Royal Irrigation Department (RID) plans to throttle back the water flowing out of the Chao Phraya (เจ้าพระยา) dam and through other watergates to reduce the flow of water heading towards Bangkok and the Chao Phraya and Tha Chin (ท่าจีน) river basins.

Flood Relief Operations Center (FROC)spokesman GeneralPalangkoonKlaharn (พลางกูร กล้าหาญ) said today that the amount of water from the North flowing past NakhonSawan (นครสวรรค์) provincehas reduced.

He further said the RID will throttle back water from the Chao Phraya Dam and other water gates by 10 percent of the regular water flow for a period of five days in order to decrease the amount of accumulating water in East of Bangkok.
