Yingluck: No Cabinet Reshuffle Yet

Yingluck Shinawatra said on Friday she is not going to reshuffle her cabinet anytime soon.

The woman premier's comment apparently dampened speculation she might probably come up with a Yingluck II cabinet, following censure debate against Justice Minister Pracha Promnok late last month.

Yingluck said she has been preoccupied with some priority issues, including the sustained flood problems in the provinces and Bangkok's suburbs, to seriously take possibilities of reshuffling her cabinet into account.

''We'll evaluate our performances and we've never been satisfied with them while the people's expectations have risen. We'll see to it that the gap between our performances and the people's expectations will narrow,'' said Yingluck. referring to members of her cabinet, most of whom belong to the ruling Puea Thai Party.

The government is preparing nationwide celebrations of His Majesty the King's 84th birthday on Dec 5 among other priority tasks at the moment, according to the premier.

Meanwhile, Yingluck declined to comment on news reports her globetrotting brother, Thaksin, will be given back his Thai passport as a New Year's gift from the Puea Thai-led government.

She said the matter should depend on the Foreign Ministry which issues passports to all Thai nationals and assured nothing will be done only to violate established rules of law and regulations.

The woman leader has so far chosen to remain non-committal toward anything involving her brother, who earlier said he would not come back home until ''national reconciliation'' efforts have borne fruit among the opposing sides of society.

His Thai passport notwithstanding, Thaksin has been globetrotting freely, given Montenegro and Nicaragua passports.
