Chuvit Suggests 'Puea Thai' Talk It Over With 'Powers That Be'

Chuvit Kamonvisit advised on Wednesday the Puea Thai Party make a fresh deal with the 'powers that be' and military top brass.

Though the Puea Thai Party, known to remain loyal to deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, could possibly set up a government after Sunday's polls but, it might not last very long, as far as the powers that be and the military are concerned, said the leader of the Rak Thailand Party.

Mr Chuvit did not elaborate or name names of any members of the 'powers that be' but suggested the Puea Thai leadership hold talk with them.

'The Puea Thai Party should talk it over with the powers that be and military leaders, who might otherwise continue to be very opposed (to the pro-Thaksin camp),' said the Rak Thailand leader.

The 'powers that be' and military leaders, said to prefer a Democrat Party-led government, might possibly stand in the way of a speculated Puea Thai rule, according to a maverick Chuvit.

He made his comments in the wake of renewed fears the military might possibly contemplate a fresh coup only if the Puea Thai Party rose to power with Yingluck Shinawatra, sister of thedeposed premier, being named Thailand's first woman leader.

Mr Chuvit repeatedly announced he had intended to get elected to parliament only to perform as opposition MP and keep a post-election government in check.
