BANGKOK, Thailand- The Thai government announced that Thursday’s received cash donations for the flood relief fund total THB 1.8 million (ThaiBaht) plus 50 thousand items.

 

Inspector General of the Prime Minister’s Office, Jamrirn Yutithamsakul (จำเริญ ยุตะธรรมสกุล) reported on the donations for the flood relief fund saying that on Thursday the office received 1.8 million baht cash, and 50 thousand of essential items.

Since October 8th, the fund had received a total of 269 million baht worth of donations.

Meanwhile Deputy Finance Minister, Virul TechaPaiboon (วิรุฬ เตชะไพบูรณ์), expressed his concerns over the mental states of the flood victims who are taking refuge in the Jangwattana evacuation center as more and more evacuees are pouring in.

He stated that the center is equipped with necessities including psychologists to help flood victims with mental relief, nonetheless he instructed official to organize musical performance in the center to further sooth the victims.
